Rabbi Chaim Block was inspirational in his leadership and teachings in presenting the six weeks course "Beyond Never Again: The Holocaust - A View From the Soul" to the general public. There is another Rabbi who also taught the six weeks course. I don't have his name. I attended one of the sessions at the location he was at and I thought he also gave tremendous insight. Rabbi Block presented and discussed issues including: Why do evil people prosper Why does God permit the innocent to suffer What kind of people follow and do not follow orders prejudicially harming others NEVER be complacent with the suffering of others Inner integrity and strength The eradication of prejudice, bias, and intolerance There is NO right to rationalize the abduction, torture, and murder of eleven million individuals or deny the existence of the Holocaust. Six million of the eleven million considered 'UNDESIRABLE' by the Nazis tragically and horrifically suffered and were murdered on the basis of religious intolerance. ___________________________________________ 'Undesireables' is the misspelled word used by my 21 y.o.neighbor in a publicly viewable message to a friend of his on myspace.com. One of those publicly viewable messages to my 21 y.o. neighbor from a friend of his states "Now remember Will, you have to wait until they admit that they are illegal before you throw them in the back of your jeep and drive 'em to the border! Man, those illegals in S.A. are soo damn lucky me and you don't live in the same city anymore!" "wait until they admit..." What criteria are they using to decide who they have to wait for an admission of 'illegal' from before physically abducting them and who knows what else!!! __________________________________________ Prejudicial hatred was exploited by Hitler to torture and murder 11 million individuals. Prejudicial hatred is alive and well and continues to be exploited by those in power and control and continues to harm and endanger our lives on a local, national, and global basis. The Holocaust Memorial Center is the most emotionally strengthening experience I have ever known and the insight and depth of emotion I felt the first time I was there has been as strong every visit since. The photos on the walls in the Memorial Center brought back memories of my childhood in Europe, the stories told to me by our young live-in housekeeper who experienced horrors of Nazi occupation when she was a child a few years older than me, and the stories from the adults and parents of my friends. I was six years old when we moved to France. My Dad believed that we should live like local residents and instead of sending me to the American school like the other American personnel living there, he sent me to the local French school. Instead of learning the prejudices of wherever we would have been living in the United States, I learned the prejudices of the French public. The difference between the French and the Americans, for me, has been how the French embraced me into their culture and supportively helped me learn and encouraged me to do my best. I'm a strong supporter of educational assistance, for all ages, in learning other languages and cultures and integrating into an international cooperative community. The French taught me their values which blended in with my personality. A strong influence on their social and cultural teachings came from their recent history of hated Nazi occupation and French resistance to Nazi indoctrination of social prejudice and tyranny. I owe the French my behavioral training that allowed me to understand the significance and value and dedication to volunteer community activities and allowed me to persevere through severe prejudice and absurd and deliberately placed obstacles to finally reach my childhood goal of becoming a doctor. I was wrong to think that the Dr. status would allow me to accomplish so much more to relieve suffering around me. Because I am not protectively networked in the community I live in, my Dr. status and social vulnerability attract mentals obsessed with power and control over others. Their bloated egos, incitement of hate activities, and mindless prejudice against education, women, and assignment of zero value to those who stand to benefit from my assistance are a direct line of thought and action to Nazi prejudice, tyranny and control.
