I am a warrior. Literally. When I was born, my mother traced my Hawaiian ancestry to King Kamehameha - who united the Hawaiian island under one kingdom. She then named me after the king's cousin - who was famous as a runner and fighter. His primary task was to run across the island to deliver war messages. Growing up, I played every sport imaginable and to this day I spend countless hours in the gym. 5 times a week, I do mixed martial arts training at True Warrior Fitness in Hollywood. Trust me - I am a warrior. However, with all of my strength - I could not prevent my grandmother from getting breast cancer. Warriors are not known to quit. Ever since my grandmother went through radiation and had to get a mastectomy - I have felt a strange connection to breast cancer and an intense desire to destroy it.
