Pokemon HG - Chronicles of the Dark Master: Episode 6 - The Elegant Master of Flying Pokemon: So, in this episode... We finally take on the First Gym Leader in the Johto Region! At last the trainer's road to victory shall begin! We end up facing 2 Birdkeepers who equally think that I'm lightyears away from facing Falkner. Taking them on... They weren't much of a pain. Not as much as Falkner was! Dang, that Falkner and his Pidgey and Pidgeotto... I think the main problem was with his setup using Sand-Attack to lower the accuracy of my Geodude's Rock Throw attacks. That was very costly, as I had begun to run out of Rock Throw's PP (Power Points). In the end, I thought of another strategy to get past Roost, (and Leafley, my Chikorita, was the star of the show!). Leafley had recently learned Poisonpowder, or at least around Lv. 9 or 10. That move was the epitome of eloquence and is what really saved me in that match. You see... Early on, Gym Leader neglect to have or use items such as Antidote, Prlyz Heal, Full Heal, etc. So, that makes it easy for me to set up on my opponents. But, why didn't I do this earlier? I didn't think Falkner's Pidgeotto would give me such trouble trying to knock it out. But, thus... Roost cuts any moves that WOULD be super-effective to Flying types in 1/2. So, they would cause normal damage for that turn. However, if I had been able to strike first, that would not be the case (which also makes me realize that I could've just set up Rock Polish to <b>...</b>
