The Duke Nukem 3D usermap, Roch (ROCH.MAP) by Pascal Rouad, completed in 00:20 in Duke Nukem 3D v1.5. The .DMO version, recorded on April 27, 2007, can be downloaded in the URL below: http://disasterlabs.com/thegreenherring/temp/ROCH-020.ZIP What follows is the description from the text file included in that .ZIP: Roch by Pascal Rouad: a map that many Duke Nukem 3D community members would know about. It's a legendary city map, known for its massive size and great attention to detail for its time, and the start of a long series of excellent maps by this incredible author. It will take a few minutes for you to find everything in his huge level, and to figure out the correct path to the exit. That is, until you discover a shortcut that admittedly takes all the fun out of exploring it. To pull this off, once you're out of the security room and in the city, rush to the nearest batch of Steroids; the author provided them so you wouldn't have to spend so much time rushing through the streets. Use one the instant you grab it, and then speed your way over to the northernmost building, the one that requires the yellow keycard to enter. Jump onto either one of the walkways to its side, and then do a strafejump into the window, using Duke's uncanny ability to change direction mid-flight. As you do so, immediately do a Small Ledge Push, head to the black door, open it, rush to the elevator, open the elevator door, and then shoot/kick the Octabrain out of your way before entering. Boom! You've just beaten one of the most well-known user maps in the history of the game in under half a minute! I don't quite get on the walkway so quickly in this run, though. If I do so (or somebody else does,) perhaps a time of 00:19 could be possible. Either way, the fact that you can beat this level faster than you can beat City at Night (which is far shorter) is beautifully hilarious. No offense to Pascal, of course; the map's still awesome, even if he hadn't anticipated a shortcut like that!
