The groups first incarnation was as No Man Is An Island (Except The Isle Of Man), featuring guitarist Stuart "The Still Owl" Blagden and violinist Ben Coleman. Blagden left, and the remaining three abbreviated the name to No-Man. Signing to One Little Indian, the trio seemed set for mainstream success, winning Single Of The Week in both Melody Maker and Sounds for "Days In The Trees". But commercial success eluded them. No-Man started heading deep into artrock territory, recording with the likes of Robert Fripp, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri and Mick Karn. Bowness and Wilson split with both Coleman and One Little Indian in 1994, and have since recorded several albums as a duo.

Based on heroic efforts in humanitarian aide and disaster relief during and after Hurricane Katrina, Dee Anne is creating this Healing Garden Sanctuary, in part, to be better prepared for the inevitability in a temporary or long-term disruption of services. After seeing the devastation and experiencing the absence of food and herbal medicinals in Louisiana and along the Kohal Coast during the last earthquake, she feels that a garden is one of the most important strategies to weathering future storms of all kinds.
