i apologize for the shaky cam. we didn't know how the internal fireworks would react. it was also extremely windy. for the fourth of july we decided to showcase my old, dead playstation for everyone to see. figured we might as well send it off in a blaze of glory. the psx has had some of my favorite games like metal gear, silent hill, and final fantasy vii and viii. i figured i'd make a comment about the current sony's weird decisions regarding advertising and design as well as marketing the ps3, mainly because i cannot afford a 600 dollar system anytime soon, luckily it's not coming out for a long time. and before people start saying i'm a cheapass like some people already have, let me say that i'm never going to pay that much for a video game system. that's insanity. paying for a higher tech level? a small percentage difference, really. sony just has a bunch of big companies behind it, that are willing to provide some ps3 only games. and it's not the millionaires that are gonna be playing the videogames (we've already seen that most celebrities know jackshit about gaming). however, there are a few, like robin williams for example that shine among others. no, the true reality is that the common workingman and teen are going to be buying this, and for some people, 600 dollars is a large investment. especially in a launch system that's going to be riddled with flaws like all other systems. what if the ps3 has a problem after warranty? what if it breaks or stops loading? let me just go pick some leaves from my money tree. why do i like the wii and 360 better? price. there's some good games for all of them, but in the gaming world nothing's written in stone. they said re4 was limited to gc too, and they did a ps2 launch, like code veronica. plus sony's gotten this brilliant idea to pick formats that people don't like. umd is a brilliant idea. small tiny discs. been around for a while, but cd drives should be kept off handhelds, honestly, or until the technology improves. look at the razr, for example. brilliant idea of a micro phone, but it's riddled with glitches because it's small technology, which this world is really not ready for yet. we have years of work before we try that again and get it right. no-one wants to buy a movie (expensive), and then buy it again to watch at home. blu-ray i hear has good space, but the market's probably never going to capitalize on it's full potential and in a market where the middle class rules, society's gonna have a hard choice. this is how the market works. people like saving money. 600 dollars versus maybe 250. and don't say the ps3 is that cheap. the light version is, but you lose alot of stuff that can't be added on later. if you want the ps3s full potential you need to pay for the higher end model. and most people really don't have that kind of cash to shell out. it's not that we're cheap. this is just what we've always learned--to try to save money and look for bargains.so yeah. enjoy. i've been a sony fanboy for a longtime, but with the way sony's going, their company's going downhill fast. they really need to pick themselves out of the gutter. my personal belief? either the ps3's gonna make sony rich, or they're gonna end up manufacturing parts and appliances again. i love my ps2. there's also some footage you didn't see. we ran a line of 2000 firecrackers into the psx and then doubled it back twice. i also wanna put the all out offense jack in the box antennae ball footage up eventually, too. first antennae ball to go aerial, maybe. loloh yeah. i don't hate nintendo. i love my gamecube too. :p thanks to my two friends, phantazmo and heretic for coming out with me.further notes: what went into this psx? 1 brick of about 300 firecrackers that spin1 chicken that lays an egg2 volcanos4 smoke bombs2 boxes of sparklers500 firecrackers25 m80swhat went into the jack in the box antennae ball?4 m80s3 bottle rockets1 flame exporative (to finish him off) Hide
