We just received this video from LA based street artist Alec Andon, (AKA. Alec Monopoly). Here you'll see the artist in his efforts to support the American Cancer Society during their July 4th festivities in Washington, DC. Alec is known locally for placing paste-ups of the iconic Monopoly man around the streets and on billboards. His work has appeared on streets around the world, and he is quickly making himself known. Nowadays we see alot of young artists getting into this whole "street art" thing, only to move on to the next trend/style when it comes along in a few years. For this reason, I've never been sure what to think of Alec's work until we saw this video; it's a very honest look into one of the things that motivates him, the global fight against cancer. We've always believed in the value of using art as a catalyst for social change, and we appreciate any artist who puts themselves out there to the public and does so in a way that is positive, works for change, and is aesthetically pleasing. Good Effort, Alec. Well Done.
