This is one of my Two Radio Shack Red Arrow Buggys. The other is still in the original box from 1985. My brother in laws and I drag race the old vintage RC cars when they come to my house. The fastest stock vintave car I own is this Red Arrow, second is the Golden Arrow buggy and third is my Tamiya Hornet. I do have a Radio Shack Golden Arrow with a brushless motor and updated ESC and a LiPo 11.1 pack but I won't count that since it is not stock.

Red Box begon in 1982 als vijf-koppige band en maakte in eigen beheer de single 'Chenko'. Een bescheiden hitje, dat wl werd opgepikt door platenmaatschappij WEA. Die bood de groep een contract aan. Als ware matennaaiers ontsloegen Simon Clarke en Julian Close hun vrienden om als duo verder te gaan. In 1985 werd 'Lean On Me' een Britse Top 10-hit. Het album 'The Circle and the Square' stond vol met zelfgeschreven materiaal. Maar daarna droogde de inspiratie even op. De opvolger zou vier jaar op zich laten wachten. Iets te lang om van het predikaat One Hit Wonder af te komen. 'For America' van Red Box stond in 1986 op nr. 4 in de Nederlandse Top 40. 10 maart 2004 in Pop | Permanente link
