Its been working really good in good lighting and needs bit of manual tweaking when used in low-light condition. What I also noticed is that a tripod is my best friend when doing pans and zooms or it will all get jittery with JVC's weak OIS. Daylight shoots is real bright and crisp when viewed on my 46" Full HD 1080p LCD Samsung M8. But its also on this monitor that the 2 dead pixels clearly popped out like two ugly dead rats. One on 8 o'clock off centre, and the other at 2 o'clock. Its hardly visible here in low resolution but you can still spot it when you look closely. The audio was previously played, sang and recorded on ProTools and later imported to Final Cut Studio where I literally just dumped the random file footages to cover the song timeline. Definitely no problem reading the .TOD files after installing JVC's Quicktime Plugin that came with the camcorder. This particular one however is going back to JVC for servicing or even maybe exchange. The OIS and dead pixels needs attention for sure. Eitherwise its a great camera to shoot with. GZ-HD7 is an unusual kind of a beast when it comes to formatting. It captures HDV Mpeg2 to HD instead of the usual tape. And the fact that you can easily skip and import instantly in whichever format you wish is truly a priceless usability feature for both director and editor. In short its tape without having to wait in real-time capture when it comes to catalogue your footages. Its already done for you whenever you start a new capture. From opening a new session to importing the pre-recorded video and audio clips, it took me about under 2 hours to get it completed to what you see now in Full HD format. Another 20 mins to convert it to .m4v format for YouTube.
