Zij hebben meer dan 25 studioalbums uitgebracht, waarvan bekende zijn Tattoo You, Goats Head Soup, Some Girls, Let It Bleed en Sticky Fingers. Hun laatste album was Shine A Light (2008). The Rolling Stones bestaan tegenwoordig uit Mick Jagger (zang), Keith Richards (gitaar), Charlie Watts (drums) en Ron Wood ((bas)gitaar). De bekendste ex-leden zijn Brian Jones, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman, en hoewel nooit officieel toetsenist Ian Stewart. In juli 2010 hebben de leden van The Rolling Stones aangekondigd dat ze in 2012 definitief zullen stoppen. De belangrijkste reden hiervoor is hun leeftijd.
