Maps API Presented by Bo Majewski The Google Maps API lets you create compelling maps mashups on your websites. In this session, we'll go over all of the latest features in the API. You'll learn how to take your maps mashups to the next level and discover how to build highly interactive maps with the Google Maps API, learn about controls, overlays, and map events using the API, how to create custom overlays, either programmaticaly or using KML and GeoRSS and understand how to optimise performance of your maps. Bo Majewski received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Queensland. Upon completion he moved to Newcastle, where for 2 years he taught algorithms, networks and software engineering. In 1998 Bo left the academia, and Australia, to pursue career in software industry in the heart of Silicon Valley where he worked in diverse areas such as computer graphics, electronic commerce and computer networks. Bo was eventually drawn back to the Land Down Under and joined Google Australia in Dec 2005. He currently spends most of his time working on Google Maps and supporting projects.

This is but a mere near ten minutes of the sort of comments on Sydney's UHF CB repeaters these days, all this audio is from SYD07 but there are many other repeaters in the Sydney area with a theoretical coverage of up to 100 kms. from the repeater location. UHF CB repeaters were licensed by the Federal Government Authorities to allow users of UHF CB radio equipment to transmit their signal greater distances than the few k's that a simplex signal can reach, as mentioned above that signal can reach up to 100 kms., or indeed much further depending on conditions. For many years UHF CB repeaters have been systematically abused by many operators of this medium, people using radio transmitters well over the legal five watts, some as powerful as 250 watts, also many illegal UHF CB'ers use various apparatuses to enhance their transmissions, beams & alike. This small audio sample from my collection features a myriad of foul disgusting abuse of others, full address details, which I have edited as not go give the full address of an operator harassed, bullied & abused. Some well meaning comments feature too, with a few naval gazing words on how some are treated, these words of support for certain people, while encouraging, do & did not make one ounce of difference to the continued actions & abuse on Sydney UHF CB radio. The Federal Government Authority that is supposed to Police The Spectrum have long since washed their hands of UHF CB in other words it has been put into the too hard basket by The ACMA { Australian Communications & Media Authority } Link : http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/HOMEPAGE/PC=HOME I can see the day coming that someone pushed to far will take the so called law into their own hands & cause both The Police & ACMA to take on the responsibility they legally have, because in the case of The ACMA one could say their powers are limited, but they are limited as far as RI's { Radio Inspectors } & others employed with The ACMA wish to use those powers, in other words it is my opinion The ACMA are too lazy & sluggish to use their current powers to the full & clean up UHF CB although the new Government in Canberra could strengthen The ACMA's authority even more, in doing so there would be no excuse at all for The ACMA to wipe the bad guys of the UHF CB map !
