Narasimha Jayanthi Utsavam at ShanguChakra's Home. The bronze yoga Narasimha statue is a replica of a stone Yoga Narasimha statue in Hampi, Karnataka, India. Narasimha is seated in a cross leg position with his two of his four arms resting on his knees. There is a belt with designs encircling his back and knees holding him in the cross leg position. He wears a beautiful array of rings, armlets, anklets and necklaces including a Brahmin's thread (Yajnopaveetham) that goes across his chest and back. In his other two hands he holds a discus and conch showing him to be the 4th avatar of Lord Vishnu. The accompanying song "Narasimha Ashtakam", a Sanskrit Hymn is rendered by Sri Vidyabhushana. Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple (aka) Thirukadigai is one of the 108 Vaishnava Divyadesam. Thirukkadigai (Sholingur) is located near Arakonam in the Chennai - Bangalore route. There is a temple for the Moolavar at the top of a hill and a temple for the utsavar at the foot of the hill. There is an Anjaneyar temple on a smaller hill. The Moolavar on top of the hill (500 ft) is Yoga Narasimhar (Akkaarakani) seen in seated posture facing east. Thaayaar - Amruthavalli. Theertham - Amrutha Theertham, Thakkan Kulam. Due to the nature of Narasimha's form (divine anger), it is essential that worship be given with a very high level of attention compared to other deities.
